Day 1
Day 1

01 Nov 2024 – Arrival in Nairobi (with Giraffe Centre visit + Dinner at Carnivore restaurant):

Met on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport off an Ethiopian Airlines flight and transfer to the Concord Hotel & Suites (4*), where you are booked on Half board basis. Upon arrival at the Hotel, you will be briefed on the rest of your tour programme.

In the afternoon hours, you will visit the Giraffe Centre. The Giraffe Centre is an attraction which gives a taste of the Africa most tourists come to Kenya to see. It is one of the few places in the country where you can be up close with animals, touch them and feed them. The entrance fee supports the Centre in re-establishing the Rothschild giraffes in Kenya. Once you have spent 20-30 minutes feeding the giraffes, you can get a drink in the cafe and pick up souvenirs in the well-stocked gift shop. There is a short nature walk across the street.

Dinner tonight will be at the famous Carnivore restaurant. The Carnivore is justifiably referred to as Africa’s Greatest Eating Experience. Twice voted amongst the world’s 50 best restaurants by UK based Restaurant magazine, the Carnivore is an amazing open-air meat specialty restaurant that has strikingly different food service and atmosphere to any other restaurant in Kenya. Whole joints of meat - legs of lamb and pork, haunches of exotic meat, rumps of beef, sirloins, racks of lamb, spare ribs, sausages, chicken wings, skewered kidneys, even crocodile, and other tasty morsels - are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge, visually spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.
